Official facts come from official sources
Race dates, distances, fees, cut-offs, rules, prize money and registration details come only from the organisers’ website, kashmirmarathon.jk.gov.in. We may reword them so they are easier to read, but we don’t change the facts. Each page shows the date we last checked it and links back to the source. Registration always happens on the official site.
When the official site gives conflicting information, we point out the conflict and tell you which version we’ve used.
What we add
Our value is practical, first-hand detail the official site doesn’t cover: what each area of Srinagar is like for race week, how long journeys actually take, what things cost and when, and how to plan the days around the race. We gather this ourselves wherever we can, and we date it.
- Facts are things we have checked against a named source.
- Estimates, such as typical prices or travel times, are labelled with when and how we gathered them.
- Recommendations are our opinion, and we say so.
Running and health information
Training, weather and kit advice is general guidance, drawn from the organisers’ runner guidelines and recognised sources. It is not medical advice. Speak to a doctor about your own fitness to race.
Keeping things up to date
We review event pages whenever the organisers publish new information and before each edition. Travel and accommodation pages are reviewed at least once a year. Out-of-date information is updated or removed.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Where a correction changes something important, we note it on the page. Tell us about errors at hello@kashmirmarathon.com.
Editorial and paid content are separate
Partners and advertisers cannot buy a change to our editorial content or approve it before publication. Paid placements, sponsored guides and featured listings are always clearly labelled. See our commercial disclosure.
Photography
We use our own photographs wherever possible and credit others. We do not present stock images as places or events we have photographed.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, structure and first drafts. A person checks every fact against its source and edits everything before it is published. AI is never a substitute for verification or local knowledge.
